Continuous Medical Education Programme was conducted by the Department of Microbiology, on 28.06.2022 in Library Hall, Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, on the subject of “HOSPITAL INFECTION CONTROL PROGRAMME”. It provides basic information about hospital infection control practices which is a serious health concern to all the health care staff, patients as well as public.

COCHLEAR IMPLANTS
Academic contribution of Continuous Medical Education(CME) programme conducted by ENT department on the day of 17.11.22 from 11 am to 12.30 pm at library hall, Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College and Hospital on the topic of "COCHLEAR IMPLANTS" . Proper invitation was given to all the department faculties and higher officials. On the day, we invited the guest speaker Prof and HOD Dr. S. Palaniappan MS ENT, DLO. from government KAP viswanathan medical college trichy. On the day, the program was scheduled as welcome address started at 11 am by Dr. A. Sivakumar,PROF and HOD of ENT. Then the inaugural function was addressed by Medical Director Prof Dr. K. Prakasam MS ORTHO and felicitation done by Prof.Dr. A. Edwin Joe, MD Forensic medicine and BL, Dean of this college.
Followed by that, the session was started with preliminary introduction of the speaker DR. VAIBHAVI KR, MS ENT, Senior Resident, Dept of ENT. From 11.20 to 1 pm,elaboration details of cochlear implants presented with PPT slides and with relevant video clippings by the speaker. The session was chaired by ENT HOD Dr. A. Sivakumar and Dr. M. Rajendran, HOD OF GS. The session condense were anatomy of inner ear, selection of patients for cochlear implants, the important steps of the operative procedure, the different types of cochlear implants and the coverage of CM health insurance of Tamilnadu state for the implants. Various doubts by audience, faculties and medical students were cleared by the chief guest Dr. S. Palaniappan. Feedback from the medical students and faculties were obtained.
Then the complements for the chief guest with certificates were given by the MD. Momentos for the chaired person prof M. Rajendran and MEU co ordinator prof P. Sasikala Department of anatomy were given. Lastly the vote of thanks was given by Dr. K. R. Vaibhavi. Followed by that, the national anthem with closure of the function was done. The certificates for the participants and the resource person were given within a week.
